The RAL color system is a widely used European color matching standard that assigns unique codes to specific shades, making it easy for designers, manufacturers, and builders to communicate and reproduce precise colors without confusion.
What is a RAL Color Code?
A RAL color code consists of four digits followed by the letters "RAL" (like RAL 9011 for Graphite Black). The first digit represents a color group:
1: Yellow
2: Orange
3: Red
4: Violet
5: Blue
6: Green
7: Grey
8: Brown
9: White and Black shades
The remaining three digits identify the specific color within that group. Physical RAL samples are created to ensure colors are consistent across different uses worldwide.
